The USDOT Deteriorating Bridges (layer and point) data is updated through 2020. The point data shows the locations of bridges in poor condition, as well as descriptive information like what road the bridge ‘carries,’ bridge length, average daily traffic, year built, and many more . The layer data shows a percentage of all bridges in poor condition at the state, metro area, county, and county subdivision levels.

The CDC Vaccination data is updated up May 6th. The layer shows the percentage of the fully vaccinated population, the total number of vaccines delivered and administered, and those who received one or two doses now for each vaccine brand (Moderna, J&J, and Pfizer).

CDC Opioid poisoning data was updated to include 2019 data. This dataset includes overdose deaths from various opioid types in addition to unspecified narcotics and unspecified drugs. The HUD Multifamily Housing dataset is now updated through 2020. This point dataset shows locations of properties included in HUD’s multifamily assistance and Section 8 database, and connects that information with inspection scores and demographic information on the residents from other HUD data sources.

The FBI Crime data is updated to 2019. The dataset shows the number and rate of violent and property crimes by county and city. There are individual groups for violent crimes like aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery. As for property crimes, the groups are burglary and motor vehicle theft.

These layers show information on people and households living in federally subsidized housing, including by race and ethnicity, household type, and income. The CDC COVID-19 Testing data is published and updated as of April 2021. This dataset replaces the COVID Tracking Project which was discontinued in March 2021 but still available on PolicyMap (COVID-19 Testing (Historical, March 2020 to March 2021)). Unlike COVID Tracking Project, each upload is a snapshot of the day published by the CDC. Therefore, it cannot be looked at over time like the previous one. The CDC provides indicators by state for total percent positive, percent positive over 30-days, percent positive over 7-days, rate of tests, number of tests, number of tests past 7-days and 30 days, rate of tests from the past 7-days and 30 days

The Head Start Center location dataset is now updated. This point layer contains information on Head Start Centers and grantees, and also has filters available for Early Head Start centers, Migrant and Seasonal centers, and American Indian and Alaska Native Head Start centers.

The U.S Election Atlas data (layer) is updated with the 2020 election results. The data shows the percentage of votes and margin of victory for a Republican, Democrat, and third-party for the Presidency, Senate, and House of Representatives.  Users can now view elections where two candidates of the same party ran against each other (i.e., California) and elections where only one major party ran against a third-party candidate rather than the two major parties against each other.

The CDC Life Expectancy data layers have been updated to include data on Wisconsin and Maine, which were previously not included in the CDC’s study. Life expectancy can be used as an overall indicator of neighborhood health. These layers include not only life expectancy in years, but also the average probability that a person in a given age range will die before reaching the next age group.

These layers show the number, rate, and percentage of vaccines distributed, administrated, the number of doses administered (at least 1 or more), and those fully vaccinated. These indicators are only available at the state geography.

New Data

We have just published the new Multiple Tax Credit Project Locations dataset that we created for the National Trust Community Investment Corporation to aid in their work to promote tax credit programs for building affordable housing. This new dataset combines Historic Tax Credit project locations with Low Income Housing Tax Credit project locations, and identifies projects that most likely took advantage of both programs. Project locations can be filtered based on tax credit program, building or project type, year, and more.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau dataset for its definition of Rural or Underserved Counties is now updated to 2020. This layer shows which counties are considered Rural or Underserved by the CFPB, which relates to regulation of the Truth in Lending Act.

The IRS Statistics of Income dataset is now updated through 2018. These layers show information from tax forms such as sources of income, deductions taken, and taxes paid. This year the IRS has published data on the Standard Deduction for the first time.
